The Israeli forces killed at least nine Palestinians in Gaza on a strike on Saturday, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza, the last of a series of Israeli attacks at the enclave that remained despite a respite of about two months with Hamas.
Since the ceased the fire entered into force in mid -January, the military led constant attacks in Gaza. Israel accused the militants of threatening his forces by throwing explosive devices, flying drones or approaching where Israeli troops are lined up.
Hamas said that those attacks killed more than 150 people since the truce entered into force, at least some of them civilians. And he accused Israel of having repeatedly violated the agreement by continuing military operations.
Saturday, the Israeli military declared that they had hit two militants who were managing a drone that represented a threat and then hit a vehicle that transported others that had arrived to collect the drone operating equipment. He did not deepen the way they represented a threat to Israeli troops.
Ismail Thawabteh, the general manager of the government media office controlled by Hamas in Gaza, said that the nine Palestinians killed in the strike were working on a beneficial organization. The identities and states of those who have been killed could not be verified independently.
The Israeli army said previously on Saturday that he had hit three militants in the center of Gaza that they were trying to install explosive devices on the ground near the Israeli soldiers. The officials of the Ministry of Health of Gaza did not respond to requests for comment.
The constant drum of Israeli strikes recalls that while Israel and Hamas have reached an agreement that paused most of the fights in Gaza, a complete respite is not yet in sight. In Lebanon, Israel is conducting such a air campaign against the Lebanese armed group Hezbollah-a Hamas-duty ally the ceasefire the ceased of the fire of the United States there, saying that the Israeli forces are attacking sites and agents who have violated the agreement.
The war in Gaza began after the mortal attack of Hamas of 7 October 2023 in Southern Israel, who killed about 1,200 people, mainly civilians, according to the government of Israel. About 250 others were brought back to Gaza as hostages.
The subsequent military campaign of Israel against Hamas killed over 48,000 people, including thousands of children, according to the Ministry of Health of Gaza. The figures do not distinguish between civil and fighters and Israeli military statements of having “eliminated” almost 20,000 Hamas agents.
Israeli leaders claim that they will not end the war against Hamas until they overturn the group’s domain in Gaza and the territory no longer represents a threat to Israel. Hamas has shown a certain willingness to give up the civil government of Gaza, but he has drawn a red line to dissolve his battalions of armed fighters.
Israel and Hamas should negotiate the next steps in the cessation agreement, which would involve a permanent end of the war, the release of the remaining living hostages and a complete withdrawal of the Israeli forces from Gaza.
The mediators including the United States, Qatar and Egypt have done little step so far given the rooted disagreements between the two parts.
The Israeli forces remain lined up in a bearing area inside Gaza and along the Philadelphi corridor, which runs along the Gaza border with Egypt. According to the terms of the ceasefire, Israel should have retired from the corridor of Filadelfi in mid -March.
