The United Kingdom joins the United States on strike against Houthi in Yemen

The British army declared that it had carried out a joint operation with the US forces against the Houthi militia in Yemen for the first time since President Trump has come the White House and intensified attacks on the group supported by Iran.

There have been no immediate comments from the American army on the operation, that the British Ministry of Defense said at the beginning of Wednesday during the night “to degrade Houthi's skills and prevent further attacks against the United Kingdom and international shipments”.

The jets of the typhoon that use precision guided bombs took part in the mission, said the ministry in a note. The target was “a group of buildings, used by the Houthi to produce drones of the type used to attack ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden, located about 15 miles south of Sana”, added the declaration, referring to the Yemeni capital.

The Ministry did not provide details on potential victims or damage, but stated that there had been careful planning to reduce the risk to non -military civilians or infrastructures.

“The strike was conducted after sunset, when the probability that the civilians were in the area was further reduced,” added the declaration.

From the fall of 2023, the Houthi repeatedly attacked the commercial and naval ships in the Red Sea and in the Gulf of Aden in a countryside that according to them that they are said to be solidarity with the Palestinians under bombing in Gaza.

Previously Great Britain had taken part in joint strikes on the objectives of Houthi ordered by the former president Joseph R. Biden Jr., which began in January 2024.

In March, President Trump ordered an intensified campaign, known as “Operation Rough Rider”. Since then, American forces have affected more than 800 objectives, the American army on Sunday have said.

Tuesday's joint operation came after the use of the defense secretary Pete Hegseth of the non -classified signal messaging app to publish sensitive details on an American mission in Yemen raised questions about operational safety and if the American allies would have been discouraged by further participation.
